Abstract:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force in higher education, reshaping academic, administrative, research, and student support functions through digital innovation and intelligent technologies. The aim of this study is to examine the level of AI-enabled transformation and integration in higher education institutions and to evaluate its influence on institutional effectiveness, educational quality, operational efficiency, and stakeholder experiences. The study adopts a quantitative research approach using a descriptive research design, with primary data collected from 150 respondents through a structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale. The collected data are analysed using percentage analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to examine the relationships among the study variables. The results indicate that higher education institutions have achieved a moderate to high level of AI-enabled transformation and integration across teaching, learning, administration, and student services. The findings further reveal that AI integration enhances teaching effectiveness, learning engagement, institutional decision-making, operational efficiency, and service quality, while technological readiness, faculty competence, and organisational support significantly contribute to successful implementation. However, challenges related to digital skills, ethical concerns, data privacy, and infrastructure limitations continue to influence the pace of AI adoption. The study concludes that AI-enabled transformation and integration play a significant role in promoting innovation, improving institutional performance, and enhancing the overall quality of higher education. Strengthening AI infrastructure, developing faculty competencies, establishing ethical AI governance, and implementing supportive institutional policies can further accelerate sustainable digital transformation in higher education institutions.
