Abstract:

The vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 represents India’s aspiration to emerge as a fully developed, inclusive, and sustainable nation by the centenary of its independence. Central to this vision is the empowerment of marginalized communities, particularly tribal women, who constitute one of the most vulnerable yet culturally rich segments of Indian society. Tribal women play a crucial role as economic contributors, custodians of indigenous knowledge, and agents of social change within their communities. Despite their contributions, they continue to face multidimensional challenges such as limited access to education, healthcare, livelihoods, and decision-making platforms. This conceptual study examines the role, challenges, policy initiatives, and future vision of tribal women within the framework of Viksit Bharat 2047, supported by case studies and analytical charts. The paper concludes that sustainable national development is unattainable without the socio-economic and political empowerment of tribal women.
